Roller beetles were a fan-favorite creature from the original Guild Wars® —and a favorite within ArenaNet—so we kept them at the top of the list for future mounts and definitely wanted to introduce them at some point. Once we started to work on the roller beetle, there was a lot of internal excitement about how we could bring them into
(since that experience is "run/fly there", and that's it) in GW2, to get the full experience out of mounts, you use all mounts.. so to get a "full remodel experience", you'd have to pay 10.000 gems (leaving out the beetle for the sake of it not having a 2k gem skin yet), which results in about 120$ cost.

If it's just the mount you're after, simply switch the story to ep3. You won't have to go anywhere near Istan for that.
